Students for analysis of product lifespan and circularity

Do you want to contribute to a more sustainable IT industry? Now, here’s your chance! Our partner wants your help to analyze how different scenarios regarding IT-products’ lifespan  affect both business and sustainability. If you know a little bit about LCA, circularity and different business models – apply straight away!

About the project

Nordic IT buyers have communicated their sustainability preferences to the industry through our partner since 2017 – resulting in a yearly report. The initiative has harnessed the power of a united voice, and the report provides the industry with valuable intelligence and actionable recommendations from its most important stakeholders: the buyers.

What you will do

You will analyze and identify the biggest obstacles for the IT industry when it comes to IT products’ lifespan. Your analysis will be an important part of the report handed over to representatives of the global IT industry. You will initiate the analysis by reading up on reports and articles and also by looking for new sources of information. As the subject of how the lifespan affects sustainability and business is fairly new – this is a great opportunity to discover new knowledge both for you and the industry. Based on different scenarios you will also do cost and CO2 calculations.

As there will be two students doing the analysis, you can divide the work tasks between yourselves based on competence and interest. You will plan your work together with our partner’s Project Manager Sustainability, and work closely together with the other student.

We are looking for you who

• Are currently a student within industrial economy, business with sustainability focus, engineering or equivalent
• Have previous experience of calculations within sustainability and economics
• Have, through your studies, touched upon LCA and circular economy
• Have very good English skills, both written and spoken
• It is preferable but not a must if you have good Swedish skills
• It is preferable but not a must if you are currently studying on master’s level
• As a person you are analytical, detail-oriented and skilled at both team work and independent work
