LCA Engineer to Höganäs’ Group Sustainability team

Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) are key tools for Höganäs in order to make data driven sustainability improvements and reach the company’s ambitious net-zero climate goals. Role and Responsibilities

Höganäs uses LCA to improve manufacturing processes and products, and to convey relevant data about sustainability performance. As LCA Engineer you will join Höganäs’ Group Sustainability team and report to the Manager of Sustainable Products and Processes. You will work closely with a senior LCA Specialist another LCA Engineer and stakeholders throughout the organization.

For Höganäs, providing LCAs and product carbon footprint (PCF) internally and to prioritized customers are key strategic objectives. You will work with LCA modeling and document the results, drive improvements through insights and assist in further implementation of LCA methodology across Höganäs production sites. You will also support data management for sustainability reporting, respond to customer requests and take the lead on assigned sub-projects.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and providing LCAs for both internal and external stakeholders and coordinating how data is gathered from all international production sites.
  • Offering data and insights for Höganäs’ operations and product areas to identify potential improvements
  • Providing product specific carbon footprints (PCF) and handling sustainability related data requests and customer inquiries
  • Assisting internal functions (such as purchasing, investments and logistics) with sustainability information for decision making
  • Supporting the sustainability team in relevant tasks and projects
  • Continuously developing and refining methods and ways of working

This position is located at Höganäs headquarters in Höganäs, in the south of Sweden, with close proximity both to the metropolitan Helsingborg and to the beautiful coast and natural landscapes of Kullahalvön and some of Europe’s most picturesque villages. You will have regular international and cross-functional contacts within Höganäs Group, and with external stakeholders. Traveling domestically and internationally may be required (approx. 15-30 days a year).

Qualifications and merits

Required qualifications:

  • A relevant university degree (B.Sc. and/or M.Sc.) in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, industrial economics or equivalent and a minimum of 1+ year of working experience.
  • Good skills and some experience of LCA modeling
  • Professional proficiency in English, in both verbal and written communication.

Merits:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in using LCA software (preferably GaBi/LCA for professionals) and databases (Ecoinvent etc.)
  • Experience in calculating PCF
  • Experience in sustainability reporting
  • Basic proficiency in Swedish

Terms

Location: Höganäs headquarters, Höganäs, Sweden. Close proximity to Helsingborg and on commuting distance from Lund/Malmö.
Start: Available immediately or upon agreement
