Exclusion from the financial ecosystem is a growing pan-European challenge which creates barriers for social equality in European markets. Covid-19 has further reinforced these challenges, and risks leaving more people without the support to uphold financially independent lives. This is vital for guaranteeing the health and well-being of individuals, for ensuring stable financial markets, and for reducing social inequalities. Which in turn is necessary to contribute to the UN SDGs.
Hoist Finance’s mission “Helping people keep their commitments” demonstrates the commitment to help customers to re-enter the financial eco-system and thus provide them with opportunities for accessing financial products. Your internship will be centred around an analytical project on social sustainability and financial inclusion. You will work with quantitative and qualitative data to map, analyse and create insights on how to improve our work to limit social and financial exclusion within Europe.
Hoist Finance is a debt resolution partner to individuals, companies and banks in 11
European countries. But their mission is much larger – they want to lead the development of
a more inclusive financial ecosystem. With over 1700 dedicated colleagues, smart digital
solutions and a deep understanding of individual financial circumstances, Hoist Finance
helps over six million customers across Europe to keep their commitments. This is achieved
by agreeing on humane and relevant repayment plans. Hoist Finance has a diverse portfolio
of asset classes and the online savings platform in Sweden and Germany enables the
unique funding model. Hoist Finance was founded in 1994 and is today a public company
listed on Nasdaq Stockholm. Read more about Hoist Finance here.
Your internship will focus on providing valuable analytical material on the social sustainability aspects related to financial inclusion. You will map the ecosystems for financial inclusion and relevant actors in our 11 European markets. You will use open data bases as well as collecting new data for analysing the extent of the problem and potential risks that affect people in financial exclusion. Your analysis and identified solutions will make it easier for Hoist Finance to help our customers on the road to financial inclusion and reduced social barriers. We hope that your own personal areas of interests in social challenges will bring new dimensions to the analysis, and issues related to financial exclusion. Your analysis will contribute to the value proposition of the entirety of Hoist Finance. It is a true chance to influence the narrative and contribute to a paradigm shift within the industry.
You will also take part in the Sustainability Department’s daily work, where you will assist in ongoing projects related to e.g. Sustainability reporting and partake in meetings.
