About Matsmart

Matsmart is an impact driven company with the superhero ambition aiding the sustainable reform of our food system. Matsmart is through their online store selling goods that would otherwise have gone to waste, due to reasons such as; overproduction, faulty packaging, seasonal trends and short or passed expiration dates. Since the start in 2014, Matsmart has rescued food and consumer products of an estimated weight of 40 000 tons and are established in Scandinavia and Germany.

What will I learn during my internship?

As an intern at Matsmart, you get to be a part of the creation of their impact report for 2022. A big part of this project is about gathering data from all different parts of the company, as well as from their partners and suppliers. The data needs to be collected and put together on their platform Worldfavor, in order for the team to be able to create the next impact report.

During spring 2023, Matsmart also wants to kick start a programme to increase engagement within sustainability issues and positive impact within the company. The idea is to make it both educational and inspirational, with elements of interactions such as; quizzes and workshops. In order to make the programme happen, your role will be to carry out research and lead the project forward so that the team is then able to build a concept and action plan.

Opportunities to grow

Through your participation in this project you will gain insight and understanding of the ongoing sustainability work happening at Matsmart. At the same time, you will be a part of shaping the design and implementation of a concrete programme with a clear concept.

The goal is to equip you with the tools that you need to be able to lead and participate in other projects with different stakeholders in the future. Your work with the sustainability report will also give you insight in sustainability reporting, while the engagement project will further your knowledge of sustainability within the ecommerce and food industry.

Requirements

• Ongoing academic studies within sustainability, leadership or equivalent
• A great interest in sustainability issues
• Previous knowledge about sustainability issues, either from studies, work experience or other engagements
• Previous experience of project leading, either from studies, work experience or other engagements
• Professional English communication skills, both written and verbal
• As a person, you are structured, curious and independent in your work

Additional information

Internship period: spring 2023, 20 weeks (30 credits)
Location: Stockholm, Östgötagatan, with some flexibility for remote work.
Type of contract: This is an unpaid internship and therefore has to be a part of an internship course within your studies
