Student Consultant within food waste

One third of all food that the world produces is in effect never eaten – but thrown away. This fact makes food loss and waste one of the biggest sustainability issues the world is facing today. To decrease the ineffective use of resources, Matsmart is now looking for someone who is dedicated to sustainability issues, creative and has a great interest in the collection of sustainability data. As a student consultant, you will help to coordinate and manage the creation of Matsmart’s impact report. With Matsmart, you will work towards a vision of zero food waste.

Responsibilities and learning opportunities

In the role as a student consultant within sustainability reporting, you will assist and coordinate the creation of an impact report. You will work with the Head of Communications and Impact to manage existing data, communicate with suppliers for needed information and help with the writing of the report. Additionally, one objective will be to continuously assist in the climate modeling of Matsmart’s products. As a student consultant, you will help Matsmart to develop important data for continuous improvement in their Sustainability work. 

This is an opportunity to become skilled at using different digital tools and platforms to report and manage sustainability data. It will also give you a good insight into the important issue of food waste for a more sustainable tomorrow.

  • Ongoing academic studies within one of the following fields; sustainability, economics, engineering or communication.
  • Experience in project management
  • A great interest in sustainability issues
  • An understanding of the issue of food waste 
  • Professional English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • As a person, you are structured, creative and independent in your work 

Meriting:

  • Previous experience of working with sustainability reporting
  • Experience of working in Excel and knowledge of the Office Package 
  • Experience of working in different digital cloud-based platforms (Matsmart uses; Worldfavor and Carbon Cloud)

Additional information 

Location: Stockholm, Östgötagatan, with some flexibility for remote work.
Type of contract: Employed as a student consultant through Sustainergies for 8h/week with Matsmart. Starting with 6 months with the possibility for extension.
Salary: Market salary, hourly paid
Start Date: During April 2022
